HTK is an Anglican, Spirit-filled, Evangelical Church.
So what does this mean?
We are Anglican
This means that we:
-
are Christian
-
worship God as central to our faith
-
celebrate the Eucharist (Holy Communion)
-
read and meditate on the Bible
-
acknowledge three persons in one God: who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
For more information about being Anglican we invite you to visit the Anglican Church Southern Queensland website.
We are Spirit-filled
Jesus taught Nicodemus that to see God's Kingdom we must be reborn of the Holy Spirit (John 3: 1-21). The Bible also tells us to be "filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5: 18).
At HTK Church, we are Spirit-filled in addition to being Anglican. This means we:
-
are passionate and enthusiastic about receiving the Holy Spirit through worship and God's Word
-
support each other as the Holy Spirit transforms us through God's mercy and grace (Colossians 3: 14-17)
-
show the fruits of the Spirit in our relationship with one another (Galatians 5: 22-23)
-
provide opportunities for members to explore and use their Spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12: 8-10).
We are Evangelical
At HTK Church we are also Evangelical in addition to being Anglican. This means we:
-
acknowledge the Bible as God's authoritative Word (Psalm 1: 1-2)
-
seek God first for guidance and direction in all our decision-making (Proverbs 3: 5-6)
-
pray for intervention by God in delivering people from bondage to sin and sickness (John 10: 10)
-
share testimonies of these deliverances that give credit to God alone (Revelation 12: 11)
-
share the message of the Gospel through our ministries and missions.
