All Welcome!
When: Tuesday mornings
Time: 10:00am-11:00am
Where: Prayer Space (front right of the church)
Need prayer?
Prayer is critical to underpinning HTK's vision. People who encounter Jesus and spend time with Him naturally become lit with the Holy Spirit and empowered to take action for God.
We start our Tuesday morning prayer meeting with a time of praise and worship, and then spend time in prayer for:
-
Community needs
-
Church needs
-
Individual needs
-
Global issues.
Our Prayer Space is designed to help us focus on “Unblocking the Old Wells of the Holy Spirit to move us out in ministry and mission".
Can't pray on a Tuesday morning?
Why not come into the church and spend some time with Jesus on your own or with a friend. Feel free to bring a coffee.
It is okay to sit and listen to Jesus, or to just read His Word, or listen to praise.
Below is a resource that you may find helpful in spending time in prayer.
The hour that Changes the World
In 1975, Dick Eastman wrote a book called “The Hour that Changes the World.” We use aspects of his model in our Tuesday prayer meetings.
The hour of prayer is divided into 12 periods of 5 minutes each. The aim of the pattern is to break the hour up into manageable parts, giving both variety and comprehensive coverage to the different aspects of prayer.
This hour is inspired around the time Jesus was agonising in prayer in Gethsemane and found the disciples unable to support him in prayer (Matthew 26: 40). When he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping he asked them: "Could you not keep watch with me for one hour?"
