Marriage is a declaration of love and commitment to one another in front of God. Your decision to have a church wedding means that you want God's blessing on your lives together.
HTK is located directly on Lake Kawana and provides a great opportunity for amazing photos of your wedding - we would love to be able to share such a special day with you.
At HTK we can personalise the traditions of an Anglican wedding with your wedding ideas and theme.
HTK has capacity to accommodate up to 150 guests.
While the church has its own off-street carpark, there is additional parking along Sportsman Parade.
What do I need to do?
Decide on your preferred wedding date and contact our Church Office to check availability and make a booking.
Make an appointment to meet with the Rector (Priest) and process the required documents.
There are certain requirements according to State law, and also by the Anglican Church, so be prepared for filling in a few forms!
At this appointment you will complete the Application for marriage form. This form needs to be completed at least one month prior to your wedding day.
To process this application, you will need to bring the following documents and information:
- original copies of your full birth certificates
- if you have previously been married, copies of court documentation
- for those born outside of Australia, a current passport and the number of years and months you have been living in the country
- full names of your parents and your mother’s maiden name
- the full names of your witnesses (normally your two principle attendants).
At this appointment, the Rector (Priest) will also take you through the details of the ceremony, the particular requirements of HTK Church and talk to you about readings, music, flowers and the cost. The Rector (Priest) will also arrange another time for you to meet with him to discuss the nature of Christian marriage and the possibility of premarital counselling.
A rehearsal will be organised during the week prior to your big event to help ensure your wedding day runs smoothly.
Renewal of vows
We also provide the opportunity for couples to renew their wedding vows and to acknowledge and celebrate the ongoing relationship that they share.
